Shchelkovo Agrochem will increase the production of sunflower seeds and soybeans in 2023


The largest Russian manufacturer of plant protection products, agrochemicals and seeds, JSC Shchelkovo Agrochem, plans to increase production by 30% in 2023 compared to 2022. This was announced to TASS by the company's CEO Salis Karakotov.


"We have planned to increase our volumes [in 2023] by about 30% [compared to 2022]. Last year we grew very seriously - by 12% in Russia and by 25% in exports.


It's only been a month since the new year and shipments are ahead of schedule [JSC "Shchelkovo Agrochem"] is significant relative to last year - approximately 30-40% [compared to January 2022]," the agency interlocutor said.


Karakotov did not rule out the emergence of a further shortage in the market of products from European manufacturers. He clarified that the company plans to increase the production of sugar beet seeds, sunflower seeds, and soybeans. So, in 2023, the company will start producing two new own varieties of soybeans, which are suitable for planting in the central part of the country and southern regions.


JSC "Shchelkovo Agrochem" is included in the list of system-forming enterprises of Russia. According to the organization, its turnover over the past year amounted to 29.2 billion rubles. The company employs more than 2 thousand people.


Karakotov stated that Russian seed companies expect to gain market share after the departure of foreign companies and thereby attract 100 billion rubles, which were previously spent on the purchase of imported seeds.
